Strategic Planning: Action Plan
The functional level strategy involves identifying and defining the operations that the
organization departments can implement to support the execution of the business-level strategies.
In order to realize speedy processing of the orders and availability of the referral medical
information in the concern departments of the Hospital Washington Regional Medical Center, it
is imperative to develop a comprehensive action plan which will stipulate the steps that will be
put in place to achieve the set goals. Also, success can be incorporating the relevant stakeholders
to set achievable goals. In this case, the innovation action plan will be applied within the
organization to ensure that all departments work towards implementing the new PDGM payment
method.
The Plan
The innovation action is chosen due to the benefits that it has shown in the organization.
Innovation has played a significant role in improving the competitiveness of the organization. It
has improved the efficiency within the organizational departments and allows them to work
collaboratively in the provision of quality services. Secondly, it has improved the employees’
motivation as the organization has availed the new technological systems which reduce the
paperwork, and burn out as they can easily store and retrieve the information in real-time. It has
improved the employees’ motivation as they do not need to put more effort into what they are
doing. The goal of the Hospital Washington Regional Medical Center is to improve
commutation between the different EHR, speeding the orders, and can make referral medical

How to apply the Managerial Decision making?
An effective managerial decision making is crucial in this case. It is important to
consider the decisions for each of the action items. The decisions will be based on the actions
that are intended to improve the efficiency of the organization. The end goal of the strategy is
ensuring there is interoperability of the organization EHR systems. In this case, the rational
decision-making model will be used to make decisions based on the actions. At first, the
problem will be identified. Each action plan will be analyzed accordingly. In the second step, it
will involve seeking information to clarify the options. The third part will involve assessing
another possible course of action that can replace the current one. In the last step, a decision will
be implemented.

To some degree, some business units will be affected, but all the departments will be
required to work collaboratively to enhance the success of the organizational goals. Some of the
departments that will be affected by the change in the organization include the financial
department, IT department, and human resource department. Since the ultimate goal of the
organization is to enhance the speedy processing of orders and enhance the availability of the
medical records, all stakeholders, and business will be requested to implement the plan. Secondly,
an effective leadership strategy will be applied to ensure that all the departments work
collaboratively to achieve the set of predetermined goals. The communication will be improved
to ensure that every person understands his or her role and conflict. The cross-functional
collaboration can be enhanced through training and team building.
Leadership Strategies
An array of leadership strategies can be applied depending on the actions put6 in place or
the stakeholders involved. In this case, strategic and transformational leadership strategies are
appropriate to foster an innovative culture in the organization (Vaismoradi, Griffiths, Turunen, &
Jordan, 2016). In order to enhance the innovation of an e solution that will improve
communication between different EHR systems used within the organization, different
stakeholders will be incorporated, which include the IT technicians, finance officer, accountants,
physicians, nurses, lab technicians, and health community workers among others will be
involved. In order to enhance, there is collaboration among different stallholder, and the
following leadership strategies will be applied. The first strategy will be developing the
objectives and goals of the team. This will ensure that every stakeholder understands the
direction that will be followed. Secondly, the communication will be improved. The roles and

stakeholders of each stakeholder will be communicated to eliminate conflict. Lastly, regular
meetings will be held to allow team members to interact with.

Over the last decade, the healthcare industry has experienced vast improvements concerning information technology. Health IT
has enabled for the healthcare industry to implement technology systems that suit their needs and processes to ensure patient safety,

trust, and outcome improvements. Applying technology improvements will allow Washington Regional Medical Center to enhance
their communication channels with other departments located in different areas while also allowing for more efficiency concerning
access to patient medical records. Technology enhancements for the organization will also include faster ways of signing orders
through an e-solution system and help the process of electronic billing to avoid facing penalties in payments. This strategic plan aims
to remain flexible and support both traditional and non-traditional methods the hospital experiences. This plan will increase the
availability and accessibility of all patient’s information while improving the protection of their well-being and health outcomes.
Improving health, the healthcare system, and reducing costs will become more efficient with the adoption of information technology
