SPCH 1315 – Speech 2 Assignment Description
When you inform, you assume the role of the teacher by defining, describing, explaining, or demonstrating.
Description:
This speech is designed to have you inform your audience about a place “worth knowing about”. This could include
someplace you have traveled to or someplace you would like to travel to in the future. Choose ONE travel
destination and discuss multiple aspects of that location. You might choose to talk about the location’s history,
geography, climate, traditions, people, culture, entertainment options, etc. This speech must be supported by a
variety of sources. You may not use yourself as an academic source. You may choose to organize this speech any
way you wish, but you must have three main points.
In particular, your speech should address the following requirements:
➢ Prompt: Noteworthy Place
o Should be relevant to your audience
o Ideas and supporting material used: appropriate for a professional/classroom setting
➢ Type of Speech: Informative
o Stresses the informative purpose of your speech
o Objective, specific, clear, and accurate
➢ Timeframe: 4-6minutes
